How to get to Mission Bay from downtown Auckland City

Mission Bay is located about 7 kilometers or 40 minutes walk along the waterfront from downtown Auckland. To walk there, you simply turn right when you get to the very bottom of Queen Street and head along Quay street and just keep going. There is a good safe footpath that is approved for bicycles and walkers that runs all the way. It is a very nice walk or cycle when the wind is calm.

You can also take the bus half way to shorten the stroll. The second half of the trip is probably nicer to walk so if you want to take the bus half way it will cost you one stage about $1.80 and the place you get off is outside the new yachting marina that will be easy to spot and will be about 5minutes along the route. From there it's about 20minutes walk further to Mission Bay. Full fare to Mission Bay is two stages about $3.00 getting back from Mission Bay is very easy. All busses on the other side of the road head to Downtown every 10minutes. The fare is two stages.
