About Us

We have been a colourful accessory of Mission Bay for around 30 years now. At that time the first windsurf shop opened in Mission Bay and operated a training school on the white sand beach. In 1996 the Windsurf shop got squeezed out of Mission Bay but the Windsurf school remains as a stand alone business. People up and down the country know they can rent equipment and launch from Mission Bay.

The bay is renound for wild sports activities, during the world war mission bay was used as a pilot training ground where 'would be' fighter pilots learned to fly in sea planes.

Mission Bay currently has a catamaran hire business and tandem bike hire.
The Windsurf shop is now located in Takapuna on Barry's Point Road and is still called 'Windscene'. See links to view web site.

Mission Bay Tandem Bike Hire

Open each weekend and all holidays year round from 11am. location is Tamaki Drive in the heart of Mission Bay opposite the fountain. There are bikes for 40 people at once including single cruisers, tandems and even tridems. The business is available during the week by appointent and bikes can be delivered to any location in Auckland. Bikes can be dropped in the city for work activities and may be ridden back round to Mission Bay.
